The client
Branch delivered an end-to-end system spanning participant registration, admin dashboards, on-site apps and real-time scoreboard integrations, reliable enough to run three distinct formats and venues, and it carried 1,506 team members across 272 teams.
The Executive Council of Dubai formulates and implements government policy across the Emirate, and backs digital systems that make large-scale public events work.
The challenge
Dubai Games 2025 ran three different competition formats at three venues. It needed one platform for participant registration and on-site check-in, and a backend that could join the physical obstacle hardware and the arena scoreboards to the online data instead of leaving officials to reconcile them by hand.
What we built
Registration system
A responsive English and Arabic platform where teams register, pay and keep their own profiles up to date, from the invitation email through to a team manager dashboard and a member profile carrying the QR ticket.
Admin dashboard
The other side of registration, where internal stakeholders moderate team information and documents, track clothing stock and watch check-in status by team.
Check-in app
A tablet app for event officials managing access control on site: scan the QR code, read the member profile including waiver and ID, check in. Integrated with the registration admin so both sides stay current.
Referee app
A tablet app for logging penalties, appeals and team status at each obstacle, which syncs with the central scoring system even when the venue network drops.
Hardware and leaderboard integration
Scores collected in real time from physical buttons at the obstacles and fed by API to the Ventuz-powered on-site leaderboards, the public scoreboard page and the team member dashboards.
Scoring admin interface
A web interface for officials to edit scores, resolve penalties and log disqualifications live, and to monitor team status at every obstacle across all heats and event days.
Integrations
- Ventuz leaderboards
- On-site obstacle score hardware
